Yonge-Eglinton & Lawrence Park
Family houses near good schools and parks, and newer condos along the Eglinton line.
What it's like
Yonge and Eglinton is midtown's busiest hub, with shops, restaurants and offices around the intersection and quiet residential streets a block or two away. A little further north, Lawrence Park is one of the city's early planned garden suburbs, with curving, tree-lined streets.
The homes
Condo towers and townhouses around Yonge and Eglinton, semis and detached houses on the side streets, and in Lawrence Park, larger detached homes on generous lots, many from the 1910s to the 1930s.
Getting around
Line 1 stops at Eglinton and Lawrence stations, and the Eglinton Crosstown line runs along Eglinton Avenue. Downtown is about 20 minutes by subway.
Parks, schools and shops
Sherwood Park, Blythwood Ravine and Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens are close by, and Eglinton Park has sports fields and a pool. Schools include North Toronto Collegiate and Lawrence Park Collegiate. Yonge Street has shops and restaurants all the way from Eglinton to Lawrence.
