Forest Hill
Where the family business began. Detached homes on large lots, some of the city's best-known streets, and condos along St. Clair.
What it's like
Forest Hill was its own village until it joined Toronto in 1967, and it still feels that way: quiet, tree-lined streets, large lots and a small village shopping strip at its heart. It sits on both sides of Eglinton Avenue West, between Bathurst Street and Avenue Road.
The homes
Mostly large detached houses, many from the 1920s and 1930s, in Georgian, Tudor and other traditional styles, with some newer custom builds. Along St. Clair, Spadina and Bathurst there are condo and co-op apartment buildings for buyers who want the neighbourhood without a house to look after.
Getting around
The Line 1 subway runs along the area's west side, with stations at St. Clair West and at Eglinton and Allen Road, and the Eglinton Crosstown runs along Eglinton Avenue. Downtown is about 20 minutes by car or subway.
Parks, schools and shops
The Kay Gardner Beltline Trail cuts through the neighbourhood, and Cedarvale Ravine runs along its western edge. Schools include Forest Hill Collegiate and Forest Hill Junior and Senior Public School, and the private schools Upper Canada College and Bishop Strachan. Forest Hill Village, around Spadina and Lonsdale, has cafés, grocers and everyday shops.
Working with me
Your Forest Hill Realtor
I'm Rebecca Himelfarb, a Broker and Partner at Forest Hill Real Estate. My family founded the company in 1985 and named it after this neighbourhood, and I've been helping Forest Hill buyers and sellers for more than 17 years. I closed over 50 deals in the past year. My clients have left me 94 five-star reviews.
Pricing in Forest Hill comes down to the street, the lot and the house itself, and two homes a block apart can sell for very different prices. I know every recent sale here and have walked these streets many times, so when we set a price or make an offer, it's based on the full picture.
